The First International Art Exhibit, “Touch”, featuring a group of mosaic artists, “Kamen i Lom”, from Belgrade, Serbia and Serbian artists,”Stojan Trumic” from Pancevo, Serbia, as well as Serbian artists from Georgia, was held in Atlanta on Sunday August 19, 2018, (The Feast Day of The Holy Transfiguration). Over fifty pieces of artwork were donated for sale with all proceeds going to Sts Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church in Atlanta, Georgia for the expansion of their children’s Sunday School Program. This event coincided with the official opening of the Serbian Culture Center and the Ethno House Museum associated with and located at Sts Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church.
With the close cooperation of the Serbian artists from both Serbia and Georgia, “Touch”, promoted solidarity and unity among the Serbian community and provided the valuable opportunity to share their common love of artwork. This event was well attended and raised significant funds for the Sunday School Program. Due to the success of this endeavor and with the blessing of V. Rev. Miladin Blagojevic, it was decided to hold this event on a yearly basis to coincide with the date of The Holy Transfiguration Service at the church.
