На Велики петак Црква је све моменте догађаја спасења свијета означила богослужењем. Вријеме хватања Спаситеља у Гетсиманском врту и осуду Његову од старјешина на страдање и смрт - богослужењем јутрења, време вођења Спаситеља на суд ка Пилату - богослужењем првог часа, време осуде Господа на суду код Пилата - богуслужењем трећег часа, време крсних страдања Христа - шестим часом, а скидање тела Христовог са крста - вечерњом (на вечерњу износи се плаштаница на средину храма, ради поклоњења мртвом Господу, на њој представљеном).

The time of the Savior?s capture in the Garden of Gethsemane and His condemnation by the elders to suffering and death - the morning worship, the time of the Savior?s trial in Pilate - the first hour, the time of the Lord?s condemnation in Pilate¦s court - the third hour, the time of Christ?s suffering on the cross- the sixth hour , and the removal of the body of Christ from the cross v evening service, when the Holy Shroud (symbolically the cloth wich wrapped the body of our God, when taken from the Cross) is taken to the middle of the temple, so that we can fall down and pray, in front of His fallen asleep body, which is represented on Shroud.
